Insanity Round 2 – Complete (Thanks Shaun Thompson and BeachBody)

clock December 6, 2009 10:44 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut So Round 2 of Insanity, in the books.  Has this been a fun ride?  100% yes. would I do it again? HELL yeah.  Will I stop using Insanity? Are you nuts!  There is no going away from insanity for me at this point.  I’ve become a huge fan of the cardio endurance and intensity level that Insanity brings to your workouts.  Will I complete another full round? Tough to say at this point.

Latest Video Update on YouTube here.

I will say, back to back rounds of Insanity is very tough on the body I wouldn’t recommend it for most people to attempt.  Why did I? I wasn’t ready to give up insanity at the time, I wasn’t ready to mentally focus on something other than my cardio endurance at the time. I felt that the initial 63 days just weren’t enough to push my body.  Well, i can tell you after 126 days, I pushed it hard and I’m ready for the next challenge (hint, post coming soon about what is next, and it will still involve Insanity).

So lessons learned from my many a hour doing the program.  Shaun Thompson gives you all the advice you could ever use in each workout.  He has given you a blueprint if you will to getting your body into the best shape of your life if you allow it to.  Listen to him, you won’t regret it.

  • Focus on form
  • Quality over quantity
  • keep the butt down
  • Keep CORE tight
  • Take breaks
  • Do what you can  and modify as necessary. Don’t get frustrated. Do your best.
  • Stay hydrated before, during and after the workout.
  • Use a Recovery Drink
  • Stay Motivated! Push through every exercise as if it was the last one.
  • Accountability – Stay consistent and press play each day
  • Have FUN! My motto, and reason I get in there each and everyday.  If you aren’t enjoying it, don’t do it.
What I have also learned from the people that I’ve gone through the program with, helped go through the program or are currently going through it, that it can be done by a wide variety of people.  It’s designed for folks that have some fitness background already. But I’ve seen people with high motivation and determination stick to this program and be successful.  They’ve gotten results and they are very happy.  With that said, it really isn’t meant for everyone.  You really need to think about what you are trying to achieve. Figure out your goals and talk to me first.  Contact me and we can find out if it is meant for you.
So are you ready for one of the best cardio and physical challenges of your life? Are you ready to take a leap forward in getting your body tuned and sculpted into something you’ve never seen before? Are you going to get outside the box and take a chance.  If you answered yes to any of these, then let’s talk.  Insanity will work for you.

KP is happy, fit, highly motivated and loving life! Let me help you feel good about your health and fitness.  Join me!

Latest Updates – Insanity Round 2 – Shaun Thompson

clock November 23, 2009 05:50 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut The past 2 weeks have been great.  Really loving the intensity that Insanity continues to bring even in the 2nd round. Shows the longevity of the program and the reuse people will get from it.  I’ve been really focusing through this 2nd round on getting the most of each workout.  Looking at ways to continue to being consistency with form.  I think in the end this will pay off the most. Believe me, there has been no shortage of sweat pouring off me each workout.  :)

I’ve continued to include 3 days a week the upper body weighted workout from the deluxe package.  I’ve really enjoyed including this during the 2nd round.  I have felt stronger and definitely noticing the changes by including it.  The entire deluxe package has been great overall.  Still feel my favorite workout is the Max Interval Sports training running a close 2nd is the Max Cardio conditioning and max interval circuit.

So what are you enjoying in your program? What are you finding has been the greatest challenge for you during your workouts? Insanity is meant to push you to a new level of fitness by getting your body to work harder for longer periods of time, with shorter rest periods.  The concept is sound, and the results are seen from the many transformations that have been seen. I myself have seen and felt the results. Love it.

Are you ready to get started before the New year on your own transformation? Many people tend to wait till the first of the year and use their New Years Resolution as their motivator to get started down that healthy lifestyle track.  It is a good motivator.  But there is no time like the present. Get a jump start. Don’t wait. Think about what you will feel like if you start now and come New Year’s you’ve already begun to see great changes. The key is making that decision to get started. Stick with it once you do.  I’m here to help you from day 1 of your program through the end.  Let’s do this together, let’s find what works for you to keep you motivated and energized about getting healthy.

Contact me, and I would be happy to go over the different workout programs.  P90x, Insanity, Chalean extreme, slim in 6, and many more. All designed to fit the various fitness levels.  Let’s do this people.  Join me each night in WOWY, @ 9pm EST.  BuddyName: KevinPrice.   I would love to workout with you and keep you accountable.

I did however make an adjustment.  I ended up going for a more active approach and used the Insanity Max Interval sports training workouts.  I had been really wanting to hit those hard and well seemed like a good week to do it. :)  I had a blast.  It really kicks your butt pretty hard I felt.  The deluxe package is well worth getting. Week 4 Round up – Round 2 Insanity – Shaun Thompson & BeachBody

clock November 4, 2009 22:31 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut Alright, week 4 was hectic, fun, long, and everything else in between.  Lots going on, Lots of working out, Lots of sweat pouring off the body and just all around great stuff happening.

Video Update for Week 4 on YouTube here.

I had an awesome week overall.  I really felt like things were coming together both workout wise and nutrition.  I think this round so far I have really done a much better job of eating than the first round and hopefully by day 63 it will really show off.  Working out has become like a natural extension of my everyday life so far and I love it.  I find great motivation in knowing that I have committed myself to getting in shape.  on top of that, i am hoping that everyone that reads this, watches the video’s and follows' me on Facebook are seeing that with commitment, the right motivation, we can ALL reach our fitness goals and have great success.

What I think sometimes people feel is that they are alone. Which is far from the truth.  We are here to help you get from Point A through Point X no matter what it takes.  You have to be willing to make that decision to start, make the commitment to stick through the program and then you’ll realize the results.  Don’t focus on the day to day results, look at this as a lifestyle change that goes beyond just today, tomorrow, day 60 or 90! Think the rest of your life and you’ll find great satisfaction in knowing you accomplished something.

So week 4 workouts:

Day 22 – Pure Cardio & Insane Abs
Day 23 – Cardio Power & Resistance
Day 24 – Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Day 25 – Cardio Recovery / Upper Body Weighted Workout
Day 26 – Pure Cardio & Insane Abs
Day 27 – Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Day 28 – Upper Body Weighted Workout / 2 Hours Basketball

Best thing that I found in week 4 was my basketball night. This is a true TRIBUTE to Insanity.  I have not played ball in 3 years. I haven’t actively run since then either. Yet, during the 2 hours of basketball I hung with the boys, I out ran the boys and I felt great! I salute Shaun Thompson and BeachBody for giving us a product that really does push your cardio endurance and stamina.

So I’d love to help you and others through your journey to your fitness goals.  Contact me and let me be your BeachBody coach!  Let’s have some fun each and everyday.  Only way to go through life.  Join me most nights in WOWY .  BuddyName: KevinPrice

Day 22/23 of 63 Round 2 Insanity – Pure Cardio/Insane Abs, Cardio Power & Resistance

clock October 29, 2009 15:30 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut So who likes to be tired?  Who likes to feel all sweaty, drenched to the core from working out?  I think that I do.  insanity Pure cardio is and always will be a load of fun.  Just soaked through and through. Socks, shirt, everything.     But to me, that is a great sign of a solid workout that is getting the heart rate up and burning the goo that we all love to get rid of!

Pure Cardio: 645 calories, Max HR of 195 and  averaged 147.
Cardio Power: Calories 590, Max HR 185, average 141

Take a look at my Video Update for Day 22/23, Pure Cardio, Cardio Power on YouTube here.

So one thing I like to try and do with Pure cardio is focus on form.  I find that I get an incredible workout with this and all others if I am focusing on form.  I’ve been trying to do that more in round 2 because you will get much better results, less change of injury if you do the exercises in the workouts properly.  I’ve noticed personally that my legs are much more on fire if I am doing the squat moves properly and getting my butt down more and paying attention to that.  It’s easy to slack in that area and not even realize you are doing it.  That is one nice thing about video taping your workout’s also is that you can review it to see where you can improve.

Cardio Power & Resistance is another great one to focus on form to really get the best out of the exercises.  There are some great moves that will give a great burn.  Love the first month workouts.  Even after now going through both the first round month 1 and month 2 workouts and into the 2nd round with month 1, I’ve found great VALUE in pushing hard in the first month.  And how well this was put together.  Month 1, still continues to push as hard as Month 2.  Month 2 is hard, a bit longer, but you really seriously get an incredible workout in these.   Keep Digging deeper folks!

Let’s have some fun. Are you ready for some? I certainly hope so because if you decide to do Insanity, you’ll be blown away.  Great challenge, incredible sweat and calorie burn going on here.  You can feel the goo burning away, the core tightening, the cardio endurance going up.  Contact me, lets chat.  Call me, Facebook me, IM me, whatever.  Love to hear your story and what you want to accomplish. Let’s get through this journey together!

clock October 27, 2009 13:28 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut Well what can I say?  Insanity Week 3 was insane just like every other week in this program.  Still firing on all cylinders and getting some insane amounts of calorie burns as well as just feeling awesome cardio wise.  I’m excited because on upcoming Sunday nights I’ll be playing some basketball.  Fits good because it is my day off, plus I will get a feel for how well this has really been working.  I feel great and hope it shows on the floor.  Now, I am no Bball player by far.  can’t shoot the ball for squat. But like to get in there and play the D.  We shall see.  Will be fun and another exciting way to burn some calories.

Day 19 of 63 Round 2 – Insanity by Shaun Thompson – Cardio Power and Resistance

clock October 26, 2009 17:42 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut Day 19, was the awesome Insanity wonderful Cardio Power & Resistance program. What can be said for the workout you get with this one.   When I started my motivation wasn’t as high as usual, but I picked up steam once Shaun starting pushing me and the others to focus and dig deep!   Just takes that little bit of motivation to spark that spike in energy levels.   It’s awesome!

Due to the camera being snuck out the house by the other 1/2 don’t have one for that day. Will have one for the Full week up on Monday (day 22, already? eek)

Kids got into the mix with me today doing some of the workout.  I love when I see that they are interested in what I am doing from that perspective.  They are seeing that exercise and fitness and good eating are ‘normal’ and that its an everyday part of your life  Start young and we can totally knock out the childhood Obesity that is just running wild today.

What’s your thoughts on the Cardio Power & Resistance workout? Love to hear them.  Always looking for a video comment on my own video’s if you are interested in doing one.   I think it would be cool.

So let’s get results people.  Let’s challenge ourselves each and everyday to become better both mentally and physically.  Life is way too short to not enjoy it!  Contact me, with any questions about Insanity, or any of the other beachbody program.  As a coach, I can work with you to find the right program.

Day 18 of 63 Round 2 Insanity by Shaun Thompson

clock October 23, 2009 19:08 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut So I did Insanity’s Upper body weight training workout for Day 18 and I love that workout more and more every time I do it.  The combination of Weights and cardio is fantastic.   I can already feel that I’ve gained some muscle and feeling stronger.  Which is a good thing.  As per my goals, i would like to build some lean muscle mass, strength and still continue to burn serious calories and get ripped. :).  Not asking to much I don’t think.  That is what a challenge is for. right?  Lets dig deep follks!

My video update for Day 18, Upper Body Weighted Workout on YouTube here.

I’ve found that in the past 3 weeks I have begun to out grow the current weights that I have.  That is a great thing. Which means I now need to really get me some if I want to continue the success I am feeling.  It’s nice to be able to feel the strength.  Make sure you plan accordingly with the lb’s that you have and of course modify as necessary as you go through your workout programs. This applies to P90x and chalean Extreme as well.  Because you’ll find that as you progress through the routine, you get stronger and in order to continue the keep the muscles confused to continue their growth you’ll want to challenge them.   Depending on your goals, find that weight that keeps you in that burn zone with more or less reps (lean vs. bulk).

Keep up the hard work and motivation people.  I hope your program is keeping you excited and challenged from day 1 through Day x.  Contact me(phone, im, facebook, all on contact page) if you need some motivation, tips, support, whatever it may be.  Let’s keep the ball rolling, the tide of change is upon us and no one will be left behind.  We are on a great path to getting ourselves healthy, and everyone else out there that needs it. Whether they realize it yet or not.  We have the tools, lets use them.

Join me each night in WOWY, 9PM EST.  Buddy Name: KevinPrice.  We can do this together.

Day 17 of 63 – Round 2 Insanity –Pure Cardio & Cardio ABS by Shaun Thompson

clock October 23, 2009 08:17 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut Digging in and pushing hard! That is what it is all about. Day 17 of Insanity.  What is Pure Cardio? Pure cardio is a cardio endurance workout that has no break! That is ‘Pure’ cardio.  A wonderful workout that gets you motivated to push yourself to that next level.  Are you ready to dig deeper and get insane results?  I hope so because that is what Insanity is all about!

Video Update on YouTube for Day 17, Pure Cardio & cardio ABS, Insanity! Find it HERE.

I love this workout and the entire program. I was again drenched from head to toe in sweat.  20+ minutes of straight cardio with Shaun Thompson motivating and pushing you to reach for your best.  Finding out what you have inside of yourself to be ‘that’ person which is willing to do what it takes to get the results you are looking for. Insanity isn’t meant for the beginner.  Hopefully if you are doing Insanity you’ve gone through either a P90x, chalean extreme or be fit from your general workout routines.  You have to be willing to lay yourself out there from day 1 through day 63 to get results.  How does that sound to  you?

There’s nothing more FUN than feeling energized and excited about where you are going with your health after working.  I want everyone out there that is currently on the bubble about their fitness to think about this.  Find that spark that gets you inspired to think about being healthy.  Find that motivator that gets you excited to say I would love to be fit and healthy again so that I can do the things I use to and want to.  It’s there, it really is.   You just need to find it.  If you need external motivation, contact me (IM, Phone, Facebook), as a BeachBody coach, I would love to help keep you accountable and motivated during your journey.  Let’s do this together.

So get Insanity, or get P90x, or get some workout program that fits your fitness level and goals.  There is NO obstacles that are too big to overcome.  I promise you that.   Find me in WOWY each night @ 9PM EST. BuddyName KevinPrice.  Accountability at its best.

Day 16 of 63 – Round 2 of Insanity – Plyometric cardio Circuit

clock October 21, 2009 20:47 by author blogger

insanityGetFitGetOut So day 16.  Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit.  A wonderful workout as always.  I still think sometimes that this one hits me the hardest in terms of sweating, heart rate, just the whole 9 yards. Not sure why.  Been doing this workout now the longest and amazing it still is HARD.

The one thing that I’ve found with Insanity, and I am sure everyone else will, is that no matter how many times you do them, they still kick your butt in the end.  Especially if you are doing it the way they are intended. And that is all out push yourself the entire time and leaving it all lay on the floor there.  Because typically, by the end of an Insanity workout, I'm just dead and laid out.  That’s what I call FUN, FUN, FUN!

Video Update for Day 16, Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit, YouTube here.

I totally was drenched after this workout.  And loved it.

Workout Results: Max HR: 240 (i think it was tripping).  Calories burned: 620 Avg: 146

It was a great workout. Great time to motivate, energize and push myself to dig deep.   You can do the same.  Take a moment and think about what you want out of life. Think about the things you would like to be able to do but you can’t because you get tired too quickly or you don’t have the energy to do it.  Think about taking that first step and getting yourself healthy.  Doesn’t have to be Insanity.  It can be any number of beachbody products that are geared at helping you be successful.  There is a fit for everyone’s fitness level! Contact me (FaceBook, IM, Phone, email), let me help you.  I love this stuff and enjoy seeing others get excited to start their journey towards freedom!
